Haathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki: Janmashtami Celebration @ Exclusive Floors

The Birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with pomp and show on 7th September at the Central Park of Exclusive Floors. It was truly a grand affair as a lot of children from the locality participated enthusiastically in the cultural programme which was superbly anchored by Sonal Sachdev. The temple of Kanha Ji was beautifully set up along with other deities. A Kirtan Mandali was invited to the venue to sing hymns in praise of Lord Krishna.

The Kirtan Mandali led by Manju sang melodious bhajans about Radha-Krishna which were enjoyed by all the devotees to the hilt. The residents of EFOS also shook a leg with the Kirtan Mandali and had a whale of a time. After the singing and dancing was over, children took over the stage to present an array of commendable performances.

To start with, Eresha and Evaa invoked Lord Krishna by singing a melodious bhajan Achyutam Keshavam and gave a head-start to the cultural event. Vamika played bhajans on the keyboard effortlessly. Shreya, Tanvi, Sanvika and Misha presented a musical drama on the life of Krishna- the Ultimate Saviour. Siddhidatri sang a bhajan Shri Krishan Govind Hare Murari and won everyone’s heart. Divyaank chanted Om Namoh Bhagwate Vasudeva with a lot of clarity and purity. Aarav and Amaira also delighted the audience with their sweet voices. Last but not the least, the final performance of the evening (a classical dance based on Krishna’s Life) was a visual treat rendered by Pritish Ghoshal who mesmerised the audiences with his immaculate moves and agility.

Before the customary pooja, Dahi-Handi Ceremony took place which was executed by Aarav, Vihaan, Rudraksh, Tanvik, Divith, Kiyaan, Ayan, Siddharth, Maanav, Tanish, Samarth, Ahaan and Arush acrobatically. It was indeed exciting to watch a blush of boys making a pyramid to break the Dahi Handi with a coconut.

The whole event was organized by the Cultural Committee of EFOS dynamically led by S.C. Sharma and Rakhee Kapoor. The temple decoration and overall arrangements were superbly managed by Neeta Chopra and Deepa Chauhan who left no stone unturned to make the celebration a grand event. Let all of us follow the preachings of Lord Krishna especially his four paths such as Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Raja Yoga and live happily and peacefully.
