Gurupurab, the birth anniversary of the founder and the first Guru of Sikhism, Shri Guru Nanak Devji, was celebrated with much enthusiasm on Saturday, 25th November in the rear lawns of the Club.
The function was jointly organised by Club 15A and RWA. Shabad Kirtan and pravachans by Bhai Gurnam Singh of Greater Kailash-1 were the highlights of the celebration. Residents turned up in large numbers to pay their obeisance and offer prayers.
A huge tent was set up in the lawn area which was beautifully illuminated. Minute details were taken care of like a joda-ghar to keep shoes and the provision of scarves to cover the head. Keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the devotees, the ground floor Bar was kept closed till 8 pm. Kadha Prasad and delicious langar was served after the kirtan and was enjoyed by more than 300 residents.
Several volunteers helped to serve the langar, enhancing the community spirit of this religious occasion. It was indeed a well-organised and much appreciated event. Kudos to the Club and the RWA committee for their effort!
