Guru Nanak Birthday Celebrated in Greater Kailash

The 556th Guru Nanak Dev Ji Birthday (Prakash Utsav) celebration was held in Greater Kailash-1 during November. Prabhat Pheri, carrying Shri Granth Saheb, was circulated in all blocks of Greater Kailash 1 for over a week from 5.30 am each day in the morning for a week, passing through different blocks of Greater Kailash on different days with followers immersed in bhajan kirtan in praise of Shri Guru Nanak Ji. Prabhat Pheri in C Block happened in C Block on Saturday, November 2, with Sardar Channi Juneja leading the procession.

On November 9, the Nagar Kirtan procession comprising, the Panj Pyare, horses, bands, schoolchildren groups, ladies, children, and men, started at 6 am from Gurudwara Shri Singh Guru Sabha (Pahari Wala Gurudwara) and passed through C Block, M Block, W Block, and M Block Market before returning to Gurudwara via  S and E blocks. Prasad comprising sweets, snacks, cold drinks, and tea was distributed to the Sangat by devotees at multiple locations in every block.

On November 15, the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Gurdwara Shri Singh Sabha was the center of activity. The Gurdwara was nicely decorated, and the Raagis sang Bhajan Kirtans without a break from early morning till late night. Lakhs of devotees offered their prayers, lit candles, and gave donations.  Kada Prasad and sweets were given to every devotee. Free snacks, chole bhature, samosas, bread pakoras, tea, etc., were distributed to one and all. Long queues could be seen from breakfast time till night in the lawns of the gurdwara. Special langar comprising ghobi aloo, matar paneer, dal, pulao, roti, mithe chawal, and prasad was served to thousands of devotees.
