Sumptuous Food, Eclectic Stalls and Music
Gulmohar Park Diwali mela is quite well known in South Delhi and is one of the major much awaited events of the Year. The Mela showcases a lot of traditional ethnic wear in clothes and jewelry while games and food add the other required touch.
Like every year this year too the Mela in the grounds adjoining the club was a huge hit. It was held on the 26th and 27th of October and the timings were 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. On the very first day there was a lot of activity and excitement around the club ground as the stall owners set up their stalls, each trying to outdo the other. They were beautiful stalls on clothes,
jewelry, western wear, Indian wear and games by youngsters and to top it all the center of the ground was occupied by the food stalls catered by the club. The menu was sumptuous, consisting of soft drinks, snacks, veg and non vegetarian dishes along with chaat papdi and ice cream.
Decorative items for Diwali and gifting purposes were on display and much in demand. Some delicious pastries and cakes were also sold much to the delight of the youngsters. The footfalls increased in the evening and the daytime was also busy due to it being a weekend.
Overhead drone was capturing the videos and pictures of the events unfolding on the ground. Strategic placement of pedestal fans was adding to the overall touch. The festive cheer was very much in the air and the people could be seen leisurely strolling from stall to stall appreciating and buying everything that was on display.
All in all the event lived up to its name and was quite a happening place to be. Kudos to the Club management for organizing this beautiful Diwali mela.
