Teej was celebrated on 18th August at the Gulmohar Club with gaiety and fervor by the ladies of Gulmohar Park. Ladies sang and danced on traditional songs of sawan and celebrated Teej whole heartedly.
Invitations were sent to the ladies of Gulmohar Park through WhatsApp groups well in advance for the day. The ladies turned up at the venue decked up to the nines in green outfits of all hues.
Beautiful green sarees and suits as well as Indo Western outfits were worn by ladies of all age groups. Beautiful jewelry and chudi’s completed the get up.
A group of singers was invited by the club to play dholak and sing songs on Teej and sawan. This group rendered songs that had everyone joining in. Many residents also got on to the stage to sing songs on the occasion. The evening went by quickly and soon ladies were seen approaching the food stalls.
Chatpati chaat stalls were organized to go with the mood of Teej. Golgappe, papdi chaat, tikki, dahi bhalle were consumed with relish and were a hit with the ladies. All in all it was a fantastic evening well spent in the company of friends and family.
