The construction activity in GK-2 is in full swing at present with older buildings being brought down and replaced by the new ones. While the newly constructed buildings enhance the aesthetics of the colony, the construction activity creates a general mess that needs to be properly managed. For this, it is important for the Builders to abide by the rules governing the construction activity as laid down by the Statutory Authorities.
More often than not, the Builders are seen to be blatantly violating these rules causing severe inconvenience to the neighbours in particular and to the colony residents in general. We have time and again, raised this concern through various articles in Samvada from time to time. Recently, the GKIIWA has circulated fresh guidelines to the Builders and house owners covering the entire gamut of rules that must be followed during the construction activity.
In addition, a committee constituted under the aegis of GKIIWA will be monitoring the construction activity through site visits at regular intervals to detect and report any violations of rules by the Builders. The colony residents too should support this GKIIWA initiative by remaining vigilant against any violations by Builders in their neighbourhood. The residents would do well to promptly bring any such violations to the notice of GKIIWA so that the same could be taken up with the erring Builders for necessary rectifications. This joint exercise by the residents and GKIIWA would go a long way in making GK2 a better place to live in.
