Def Col guards are doing a yeoman service. Besides providing security services and keeping us safe and secure they, in a nutshell, do the following and more:
1. Restrict the number of vendors entering the colony to only those who have been issued passes by Gumbad.
2. Assist and control the flow of school children and their parents daily during school opening and closing hours.
3. Direct traffic during peak hours.
4. Restrict persons driving on the wrong side of the road, moving in the wrong direction on the Gumbad Roundel.
5. Ensure tracked JCBs do not damage the roads.
6. Report non-working street lights.
7. Request builders / house owners to get rid of their malba.
8. Clear parks and other areas of unruly persons consuming alcohol and other anti-social activities.
9. Water wastage is controlled when they request car cleaners not to use water pipes for washing cars driveways, but to use buckets.
10. Overflowing overhead water tanks are reported to the occupants of the concerned house instantly.
11. Get removed commercial hoardings which are hung or pasted within the colony. These make the colony look shabby.
12. Fire: They fight fire by using handheld fire extinguishers. They help rescue persons trapped in such houses.
13. Disallow driving training, not letting cars with L for training drivers within the colony.
14. Check unauthorised digging in the area by service providers or others.
15. Do not allow construction work after 8 pm as it disturbs the neighbourhood.
16. Control entry and exit and parking of large trucks including concrete mixers.
17. Do not allow our colony to become a lovers joint in parked cars in back lanes.
18. Not allowing “Raat ki Rani” women and their related activities within the colony.
In other words, ensuring we retain our status of one of the top colonies of New Delhi.
Note: We Need Support and Co-Operation for the Guards from You All, The Residents, In Our Own Interest.
So Those Who Feel That Since You Have Your Own Guards for Your House and Hence the Colony Guards Are Redundant, Please Think Again.
