Guards sometimes perform beyond the line of duty to prevent thefts and to safe guard our colony and the residents residing in it.
On a patrolling round to check guards towards North Side of the Central Park. Janardhan our security supervisor noticed two drug addicts stealing a big iron gate and taking it underneath the nallah towards the railway crossing beyond the C block gate.
He quickly called the other guards for support and without fearing his own safety confronted the two miscreants who were already high on drugs acted violently towards him.
Before he could react a group of 20 jhuggi dwellers living beyond the railway line attacked him with bricks and stones.
The main guy-accused who was with the gate got bolder seeing the support and hit Janardhan with a brick n stones on his head and his nose started bleeding badly. Thank fully the other guards and Constable Vinod arrived in time.
Seeing them the jhuggi people along with the main accused ran away.
Constable Vinod showed great bravery and went after them catching the main accused (nick named Panwari) single handedly and took him to the police station.
In the meantime, Col Nagrani deputy chairman security) and President Veena Khanna and Sumeet reached the location and rushed Janardhan to Moolchand hospital. Janardhan’s injuries were so severe that he had to be given stitches on the nose and on the back of his head.
The next day thanks to our police team the other culprit was also caught and booked by the police. Samvada salutes Janardhan for his act of bravery and his service for keeping our colony safe.
