Group Dance Festival an Experience

The Crescent ladies and young girls participated in the “Apartment Group Dance Festival” organized by Meghdutam Rangmanch on 3 December. The well-coordinated team of 06 ladies – Gauri, Geetashree, Kalpana, Natasha, Pammi, Pooja and Vandana – and 05 young girls – Arohi, Prisha, Samridhi, Vamika and Vardhini – performed on the medley of songs with the theme Chal jeete hain chal (we have a world beyond a mother, sister, wife and a daughter). The 5-minute performance was a combination of 3 songs: a fusion of Classical and Indi pop with Ghar more pardesiya (movie Kalank), Mainu lehenga le de (by Jass Manak) and Jeete hain chal (movie Neerja). The beautiful dance sequence ended with performers holding placards of social issues – women empowerment, freedom of expression, stress free lifestyle, peaceful environment, beti bacho beti padao, save water and clean environment. The performance was a group effort and there was no single choreographer and everyone contributed in the planning and execution of the concert dance. “It was a great experience to perform with kids who are so confident and many of us were performing after a long gap, after school/ college days. It was a fantastic to perform on a platform outside Crescent walls with a feeling of competition to do better than other societies” says Kalpana Singh, C703, who coordinated and planned with organizers.

Crescent thanks the Meghdutam Rangmanch team and looks forward to more performances and cultural events in the coming days. Copiled by Payal Mathur (D-102, The Crescent)
