Colony ladies shine onscreen
Karva chauth celebrations were brought in by the ladies of Green Park Extension in a remarkably different manner this year. The ladies of the colony decked up to the nines. They were informed well in advance by the RWA about live coverage of the karva chauth puja by GNT Aaj Tak channel.
A resident, Rinki Sharma, called up the RWA President and the General Secretary to ask if they would be open to live coverage of the karva chauth puja that the Association arranges every year. They were only too happy to say yes to this opportunity and promptly sent out messages on the colony WhatsApp group to enlighten the residents, so that they could turn up at the appointed hour.
The RWA arranged the pooja essentials in the K block park of the colony. At the appointed hour, ladies of the colony dressed in their finery turned up at the venue and then started the rounds of “thali vatana”. Meanwhile Gunjan Dixit of GNT Aaj Tak turned up at the venue with a cameraman. The pooja was beautifully captured and Gunjan aptly anchored and captured the underlying essence of the occasion.
She gayfully involved the women into singing and sharing the reason for observing karva chauth. Not only did she get the ladies to divulge the gifts that they had received on the occasion by their husbands and families but also got them to sing beautiful Hindi songs befitting the festival.
The ladies of the colony were waiting eagerly for the coverage to be aired. It goes without saying that the coverage came out stupendous with the ladies shining on screen no less than celebrities. It was an experience that brought much cheer and excitement in the colony. Hopefully we will have many more such occasions now.
