Green Park Extension Association Holds AGM

Green Park Extension Association held its Annual General Body Meeting on 15th August 2024, 11.30 am onwards. The first call for the meeting was given at 11:30 am. Due to lack of quorum, it was decided to wait for 15 minutes. The second call for the AGM was given at 11:45 am. By then more than 25 residents excluding the EC members had joined in, thus the quorum was deemed fit and the AGM was called to order. The meeting started with a welcome address by the President of the Association.

Thereafter President Neha Puri addressed the members and thanked them for taking the time out to attend the AGM. She spoke about the various hurdles that the EC and the colony have been facing regarding the services from the civic agencies mainly by Delhi Jal Board and MCD. She expressed deep concern about the crisis faced by many residents especially in G, U and V blocks when it rained heavily on 28 June. The sewers in our colony and many others have not been desilted and cleaned for a very long time causing immense damage to property due to massive water logging. Mr. Jowal and Dr. V.K. Jain offered to help form a committee to work out a plan to get works done by the civic agencies. She ended her note, hoping for more members to join the Association in the coming year and handed over the stage to the Hony. General Secretary.

Mrs. Shilpa Chandra, Hony. General Secretary read out the report on the various activities and initiatives taken up by the Association in the last two years. She shared that the colony had collected and recycled over a ton of plastic waste and 700 Kg of E Waste responsibly. She shared that the Association had been given many certificates of appreciation by MCD for its various achievements in the area of garbage segregation, plastic and e-waste collection. She was happy to announce that the new directory of Green Park Extension had been published and was now available.

The hard copies of the audited accounts of 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 were given to the members present and presented by the Treasurer Kiren Babal. It was shared that MCD owed Rs. 4.13 lacs to the Association as amount under the PPP scheme for the last two years. The accounts were proposed and duly approved.

The next important agenda was the discussion on Amendments in the Bye-laws of the Association. Copies of the existing bye-laws and proposed amendments were distributed to the members present. In the Meet and Greet of residents held in July 2022, the members present had suggested names of esteemed and experienced residents to form a committee with the Executive and discuss the amendments. The committee consisting of Mr. Nakul Sharan, Mr. Anurag Sachdev, Maj. Gen. Hemant Joneja, Maj. Gen. Nikhil Kumar, Mr. Rajesh Rattan, Mr. Ajay Chadha, Dr. Gagandeep Singh, Mrs. Neerja Chawla, Mrs. Harsh Logani, Mrs. Vijaya Joshi, Mr. Anand Gupta, Mrs. Kiren Babal, Mrs. Shilpa Chandra and Mrs. Neha Puri had meetings and brainstormed, discussed and agreed on each of the byelaws, amendments/additions/deletions in each of them. Each point and the suggested amendment were read out by the President to the members present in the AGM. The approved points and any suggested changes were noted by the General Secretary. Changes as suggested by members present, have been made to the final document.

The members discussed the need for a better quality of security agency and guards for the colony. The President proposed an increase to the annual subscription from the current Rs. 4000/- to Rs. 5000/-. This was agreed by Mr. Manoj Nagpal and seconded by Dr. V. K. Jain and Mr. S. K. Tiwari. At the end sumptuous snacks and tea was put forward for the members of the Association by the Cultural Committee headed by Mrs. Harsh Logani, Mrs. Kiren Babal and Mrs. Vijaya Joshi. The refreshments were very kindly sponsored by Mr. JK Jain, Mrs. Meetu Nagpal and Mr. Manoj Nagpal. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by the President Neha Puri.
