Major thefts abound in different blocks
I am pained to share with my fellow residents that Green Park, our expected Model Colony, is deteriorating into a criminal hub. From the last couple of months we have been hearing of thefts of Motor Parts, missing two wheelers and attempts to drive away with the cars in the congested areas of Green Park. Criminals have infiltrated our Colony. They roam around in the morning selling household goods and thus get an idea of prospective crime targets at night.
Within a span of week/10 days residents of block A, J and M have become the victims. There is a loss of car in M4, a car and motorbike in front of J 13, Innova car in J8 and a generator battery weighinhing 35 to 40 kgs from inside the premises of A 18 Green Park Main. Surprisingly all these are guarded areas.
In J8 the Innova car was parked outside the house and was driven out in the wee hours of the morning in the presence of Guards. Since these days so many commercial cars are parked in J and A blocks the Guards got confused. It was only when the owner of the car found it missing, that he raised a hue and cry. Similarly in A 18 there is no clue as to how a heavy generator battery was taken out of the house. Both the Steel doors were locked and the night guard was on duty. It seems the thieves jumped into the house through the boundary wall, removed the battery and walked away with it, without alerting the guard.. It is shocking news. How safe are we in our own homes, especially the senior citizens, who stay put at home while the youngsters are out for work. Who is to be blamed?
Let us not pass the buck from one agency to another like the political parties. Let us have a brainstorming session with the RWA Executive Committee and Police who are incharge of Green Park and try to find a solution.
