A major horticulture project is currently underway at Grand Omaxe, Sector-93B, initiated at the conclusion of the monsoon season. During the rains, the grass in and around the central park and towers grew extensively. Now that the weather has improved, work has commenced to cut and trim the grass, as well as to plant new flora to replace trees that suffered significant damage during the summer heat.
In previous years, to protect the grass in corners along pathways, iron rods and ropes were frequently used. However, this approach posed several risks and challenges. The rods often fell, and ropes could break, creating potential hazards for residents, particularly senior citizens who might trip over them. Additionally, children were at risk of injury due to exposed iron rods.
To address these issues new strategy is being implemented. A hedging is being planted around the edges along pathways with several anticipated benefits. These include the following:
1. Enhanced Safety: By replacing iron rods and ropes with hedging, a safer environment is created for all residents. This approach minimizes the risk of tripping or falling, particularly for senior citizens and children, who are often more vulnerable to such hazards.
2. Grass Protection: The hedging will serve as a natural barrier, preventing foot traffic from damaging the grass. This will help maintain the aesthetic appeal and health of the lawns, ensuring they remain vibrant and lush.
3. Cost Efficiency: Regularly purchasing iron rods and ropes has been a recurring expense. By adopting this more sustainable and lasting solution, it is expected to significantly reduce costs related to maintaining these protective measures.
4. Environmental Benefits: The introduction of new plants and the focus on greener practices will contribute positively to the local ecosystem. A well-maintained central park will not only enhance the beauty of the area but also improve air quality and support local biodiversity.
The ongoing horticulture project is a step forward in creating a safer and more enjoyable environment for all residents of Grand Omaxe. This shift from traditional methods to more sustainable practices will lead to a more inviting central park, promoting greater community engagement and appreciation for green spaces.
These improvements will be beneficial for everyone, enhancing the quality of life in the community while making the central park a greener, safer and more inviting place for all.
