I Did It!
I had always wanted to go the 7th continent and of course, see Antarctica, the glaciers, icebergs, natural wildlife and cross the Drake passage! It was a life changing adventure and hard to describe.
We had a Drake “lake” passing which was a bonus! The expeditions and crew were fantastic. We saw 4 different types of whales, 3 different types of seals, 3 different types of penguins and several species of birds.
Staff from the Captain down the chain were all amazing, friendly, happy, smiling, caring and went out of their way to make sure you were satisfied and enjoying every moment.
The lectures were diverse and interesting. The food was out of this world good and plentiful. Entertainment was not glitzy, but Paul the piano player was great. Simon, the entertainment manager was fantastic and really went out of his way. The GM made sure you were always well taken care of for the entire cruise. Room stewards, bartenders and servers were top notch, catering to your every whim. Fitness room is small with 2 treadmills, recumbent and elliptical with a couple of yoga mats. Enough if you really felt the need to work out. GO TO ANTARCTICA!!
I Celebrated my 69th birthday on this Cruise. Age is no barrier. Try one of these exciting trips once in your lifetime. Happy travels!
