A resident of GK2 for the last 29 years, Alumni of Lady Shri Ram College, Ex fitness instructor, mother to a 27 year old son and 24 year old daughter, running a Bou-tique by the name Triyaa for the last 23 years, and now a Home chef too – Rakhi Nijhawan really needs no introduction. Let’s hear from the fashion lady and Diva what Glamour means to her:
“Glamour holds different meanings to different individuals. Personally, to me , it’s the Personality I carry. I feel if you are courageous to take your decisions, Confident in the work you do & Balancing Family life with work, then you are definitely Glamorous.
Though I’m in the Fashion field, I’ve never followed the fashion trends blindly. I wear what suits my body & gives me comfort. I experiment with all types of Indian & western wear. Love wearing sarees & look for opportunities to wear one. For my daily wear, I prefer mulmul kurtas or linen pants & cotton shirts. I like Style to be understated rather than overstated and that’s how I design clothes for my clients too.
Most of my outfits are created at my boutique TRIYAA so I don’t need to step out.
Fitness is a Way of life for me. It’s something that has been imbibed in me since childhood. My day starts with my Fitness regime. I mix yoga, dancing, kick boxing & weight lifting in my daily workout routine. I don’t work out to be Thin but I do it to remain Fit & Active.
I don’t plan my life and take each day as it comes. I Like to experiment with new things & love taking up challenges. I think that’s what makes me Glamorous & Confident
