“It is interesting how Life gives us the opportunity to know, learn and grow from each one’s life experiences” – says Beila Gupta. This month we bring you “Glamour” as seen from her eyes – a multi-talented person who defies age.
A sneak peek
I was a medical student, but destiny had a different path for me, I couldn’t pursue my MBBS and graduated in Arts from Delhi University. Later I became a cosmetologist and dress designer and had a beautiful career for 20 years. Thereafter, took a sabbatical and travelled the world. As I always had a creative side, I reinvented myself and today am an actor, model, and influencer. I love singing and dressing up. A people’s person I am passionate about my work. Blessed with a beautiful family, my ever-encouraging children and grandchildren love what I do. Though people find the profession glamorous, I must say “glamour” is often misinterpreted. People believe that to be successful – glamour is required. But I would disagree- looks alone don’t matter. What matters is your thinking, lifestyle, attitude, grace, communication skills, and values in addition to well-groomed looks. Simplicity could be glamorous too.
I believe in the old saying “Jaisa Desh waisa Bhes”. I dress according to my day plan. I find sarees the most graceful and elegant, hence is my all-time favourite and I choose to wear them for special occasions. For spiritual or prayer meets, family rituals, and places of worship and while meeting family elders I prefer Indian suits or a simple saree. For my day-to-day work, I prefer trousers and a shirt, and for daily walks, I am always ready with sneakers, joggers, and Tees. Not the one to feel lazy to change even if I have to go to more than two places in a day, it gives me confidence being appropriately dressed.
When asked about my hobbies, I must tell you – my work is my hobby, on the set, in front of the camera, and singing. I am passionate about what I do – the more I work the happier I am, drawing energy from my job satisfaction. Not to be left behind – I am active on social media too through Instagram and facebook.
I am blessed and thankful to my parents for the good genes that I look fit and fine. But this does not imply I do not take care of my well-being. A regular walker and mindful eater by habit, I eat small meals frequently. Breakfast is the most important meal of my day, lunches are regular too but at night I eat light. An organized person, I do not like clutter in the mind or space around me – be it my room or cupboards. My day is well scheduled which allows me to multitask.
My take from life – each day is a blessing and gift of God, make the best use of it, never give up, and do not limit yourself. Keep learning and growing gracefully, the universe has a lot to give us. The more you have, the more you will be able to give back to society.
