Civic Issues Highlighted
Might members of the newly formed GKRA managing Committee, led by the GS, Bimal Kapoor met the Hon’ble Mayor in her office on 4th Oct.23 at civic centre.
A warm welcome was extended to the delegation by the mayor & her staff.
12 major points were taken up with the mayor and letters were handed over in her office by the delegation.
Some of the issues which were highlighted, are reproduced here in brief, for the general information of G K 1 residents.
1. Anticipated problems if the proposed 400 bed hospital comes up in G K1.
2. A policy & time frame for the pruning of trees- Many trees are posing a threat to life & Property of residents.
3. Sanitation & cleaning of main roads, inner lanes & back lanes.
4. Policy for holding religious, cultural & social functions in G K 1 parks & specially in those parks which are maintained by RWA’s.
5. Menace created by builders- Major violations.
6. Recarpeting of main streets & back lanes.
7. Stoppage of Sewage flow in the storm water drain passing thru R, S & B block.
8. Encroachments on Main roads, main streets & back lanes- Removal & punitive action.
9. Parking lot at M Block- To be expedited
10. “Barat Ghar” in Kailash Colony- To be made functional at the earliest & use to be restricted for GK area residents only.
11. Problem of stray, dogs, cats, Monkeys & dog poo.
12. Relying of walking tracks in parks.

The Hon’ble Mayor has assured to look in to all the above points expeditiously & assured to meet GKRA M.C.; after her return from Australia after 15th Oct. 23
