Every year the GKII RWA puts up the Karva Chauth Mela which is eagerly looked forward to by the area residents. Like every year this year too, the Mela was a huge suc-cess and pulled in crowds not only from GKII but also from the neighbouring colonies. The Mehndi stall was as always, a hot favourite, given its importance to the festival. Creativity and innovation were at their best when it came to the various unique designs with which the stall girls were applying henna to the palms of the lovely women who came to the stall.
There were many attractive stalls of ladies traditional garments, fashion jewellery, home décor and many other items. There was also a variety of cuisines available which offered mouth-watering dishes. All these stalls got a good response. The star attraction of the mela was the cultural programme that was choreographed by Moksha, an acclaimed expert in his field. The participants came up with an awe inspiring performance after just three days of practice. The young school students belonging to the infinity Matrix group from the neighbouring CR Park also got to showcase their talent in this cultural extravaganza.
Some noted personalities graced the occasion too, by their presence. These include the local MP, Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi, the area MLA Mr. Saurabh Bharadwaj who came with his family, the local Councillor Ms. Ashu Thakur, the area SHO Mr. Ritesh Sharma, Mrs. Shikha Rai and Mr. Subhash Bhadana. Our heartfelt gratitude to the RWA and the mela visitors for making this event such a huge success,
