GBM Highlights: Sector 40RWA’s Roadmap for 2025

Members discuss security, infrastructure, and community initiatives

The General Body Meeting of RWA Sector 40 was held on December 22, 2024, at the Community Centre. After a 30-minute adjournment due to lack of quorum, the meeting reconvened with 54 members in attendance. During the adjournment, Ms. Vibhuti from discussed how people react to gender-based violence in society. The residents actively participated in the discussion. President Ashok Sharma welcomed the members and requested a two-minute silence to pay homage to the departed souls of the sector. The minutes of the previous GBM were approved after clarifying an objection raised by the author of this write up regarding the opening of Gate No. 11. Mr. Sharma assured the house that Gate No. 11 would remain closed, and RWA would send a suitable reply to Noida Authority.

Two new members, Avtar Singh Passi and Shyam Chauhan, were welcomed. The General Secretary, Poonam Sharma, requested committee heads to report on their activities. Simi Chadha reported on cultural events, including Independence Day celebrations, where children participated in a cultural program, and Diwali Milan, featuring dance and song performances. Children who excelled in their educational fields were given appreciation certificates, and participants in drawing and painting competitions received prizes.
Mr. Sirohi, Security In-charge, reported on security measures, including the occurrence of two major thefts, one of which was solved. He appealed to members to inform security supervisors when going out of station. Mr. Malik suggested displaying security guards’ contact numbers at Gate No. 2.Brig Sinha emphasized the importance of physical presence of guards over barbed wires. Mr. AK Sehgal informed the house that laying of sewer lines was almost complete, but Brig Sinha raised concerns about their functionality due to faulty engineering. Mr. Sehgal also informed that RWA had requested Noida Authority to re-carpet the damaged roads. The members discussed the issue of damaged roads and requested re-carpeting. Mr. Sehgal shared good news about covering the big drain alongside the sector’s boundary wall. Necessary budget had been approved, and the work would start soon. In the meantime, the cleaning of the drain was being done periodically.

Pranav Anand reported on horticulture activities, including repairs to the walking track, installation of new red stones, and replacement of floor tiles in the open-air gym. A jogging track along the walking track had also been approved. Anil Gupta informed the house about the installation of a new transformer in C Block, which would become operational soon. All damaged electric poles in the sector were being replaced one by one. The meeting concluded with discussions on CCTV cameras, encroachments, garbage collection, and maintenance charges. Tilak Raj enquired about the number of working CCTVs and expenditure incurred. Mr. Malik suggested taking steps to clear encroachments, and Shyam Chauhan raised the issue of irregular garbage collection. The President thanked the members, and the meeting ended with a packed lunch.
