We continue to highlight the efforts of Def col residents who are nature friendly and contribute in making our colony greener by creating a home garden on the terrace, balcony or on the ground floor of the house. This month, it’s Kanchan Chandra, a resident of A-378, who has created a beautiful garden at her terrace and also in the balcony, with more than 600 plants of all varieties. She informed that her father S. D. Gogia was a nature lover and used to cultivate various plants in their house in Faridabad. Kanchan as a kid used to help her father in the up- keeping of the plants and soon that activity became her hobby. She now has a beautiful garden in which exotic ranges of tulips, moriya, rajanigandha, champa, madhu malti creepers bloom at all times especially during the rainy season. She has creatively designed a few in-house pots with a variety of jade plants which are appreciated by her neighbors and all other visitors. She believes that a cup of tea is best enjoyed in one’s own garden. Surprisingly, Kanchan, who loves to gift plants to her friends and relatives, takes care of her garden without any help. Her hobby has gone beyond her house as she has now turned a barren land in front of her house into a beautiful triangular park (known as Titli Park) which is used and appreciated by all.
