A place’s value is seen from the presentation of the civic sense of the inhabitants and it pains me to say Sushant Lok sanitation value is going from bad to worse.
Once a colony is established, we take it for granted to throw rubbage wherever it suites us, regardless of the convenience of the passersby. Besides the cleaning company trucks come usually late, that provides added panic in already busy lives of the residents as they cannot keep the garbage outside because of the strays and monkeys and inside the stench is killing as it is.
The residents (especially PG houses) have found an easy way out- they throw it on the sidewalks or outside the park boundary, they won’t mind leaving the garbage bags outside their neighbour’s gate too! No Solution!
It is owing to these inconveniences the face of the Sushant Lok looks grim, at every nook and corner one can find the litter of the thrown away garbage, strays picnicking around and passersby struggling to find a way to proceed. It is a funny thing as the houses are such beautiful cottages (at least the old ones are), presenting a tasteful panorama but one has no time to watch them as they have to manoeuvre their way out of the labyrinth of the uncountable garbage bags strewn all around. Pathetic situation!
