Ganpati Bappa moriya. Ganesha Utsav is celebrated all over India. It is celebrated on a large scale in some states and on not so large scale in others but celebration is definite.
Ganesh Utsav celebration was initiated by Shri Lok Manya Tilak during independence movement. The aim was to draw people out of their houses and gather at one place to educate them on India ‘s need for independence.
The one who has come, has to go – that is the eternal truth. So when we welcome Ganesha, we have to bid adieu too. Ganesh chaturthi, birth of Ganesha or we can say Gannu, is celebrated for 10 days all over India and now in other countries also.
Elite Homz also welcomed Ganesha on September 19 with enthusiasm. It started with parikrama followed by sthapna and pooja. Arti was mesmerizing and prasad was amazing. In the evening after arti we had a Sangeet Sandhya , Ganesha was praised by Bhajan.
On September 19 there was a story telling session for the children. There was a narration on things like birth of Ganesha, his parents, how and when he was born, , why he has an elephant head, why we always we perform his pooja in the beginning of any auspicious event and much more. The children heard the stories with deep interest and also asked questions. After story telling session, the children made Ganesha tatoo on their hands.
The days of celebration conclude with Ganesha visarjan. After arti and prasad which consisted of homemade modak, we did parikrama and chanted vxys cjl rq tYnh vkA
All the residents, especially the mothers and children, of Elite Homz enjoyed the visarjan ceremony immensely. The kids sat in the vehicle that was to carry the Ganesha idol and each of them wanted to hold the idol. Visarjan was done at pond in sector 117, arranged by the Authority. The whole celebration was fully supported by Elite Homz AOA and residents and above all by the lovely lady volunteers.
