On Ganesh Chaturthi, Imperial was filled with aroma of kesar modaks, fragrances of scented candles and the chord that strikes with the essence of dhoop and marks the beginning of hope, faith, trust and power in Lord Ganesha.
Residents reflected in their hearts and mind and realised a year had gone by where they had so much to be grateful for. This festival was primarily celebrated so that friends and family, far and near, could gather around Lord Ganesha’s idol, seek His blessings, enjoy His yummy Prashad and catch up.
All the essentials for the Ganesha Aarti were beautifully placed, right from the idol, marigold garland, the thick white thread that goes around Ganesha’s ear and chest diagonally, a few pieces of supari, a few betel leaves, a small bunch of green grass, sweets like modak & ladoos, the traditional pooja thali with sindoor, Haldi, raw rice for tikka and a Diya.
The day was filled with joy for every person who attended the celebration. The festival was celebrated with love, light, togetherness, purity in intention and hope.
