About 45-48 members of Friendship Club attended the meet to listen to a very important subject ‘How to keep our money safe? Speaker Nitasha Ailawadi Girdhar, a Chartered Account by profession gave tips regarding hackers.
We were advised to follow 50/30/20 rule, 20% as emergency fund, 30% for shopping, entertainment hobbies etc and 50% for housing, groceries, transportation,bills, insurance & car payments etc. Do save 20%. She also gave guidance about the use of credit cards, their merits & demerits. A few additions given by Dr. Pabley:
Make sure to save for ‘rainy day’.
1. For an unexpected emergency example– near and dear emergency operation, unexpected court case etc.
2. For charity
3. Rest for household running, enjoyment and gifts etc.
4. Do nominate all types of saving. In case forgotten, next generation will require a succession certificate from the court.
Meeting started with recitation of poem, incorporating Sawan, Independence day & Raksha bandhan by Shanti Sharma, followed by introducing the Guest Speaker by Anjali Gogia and closing with patriotic song “aye watan tere liya….and finally enjoying the mouth watering snacks Friendship Club members chit-chatted with each other.
