With progressing age, many of us, face issues, of being ‘hard at hearing’. At times, we want the volume of the television turned up, we want people to talk louder than normal, etc., so much so that many times, we begin to feel embarrassed, at the probable ‘hearing loss’ that we may be suffering from. To help our residents become aware whether such a problem is existing, or whether it is at a nascent stage, “Hear Clear”, a leading premium hearing aid clinic chain, in the country, certified by Signia ,held a Free Hearing Test And Consultation Camp, at the office of NFC RWA (Ashoka Park), on 5th November 2023. The initial, operational timings were from 10.00 am till 3.00 pm, but considering the number of residents visiting, the timings, were extended, till 5.30 pm. A free hearing test, memory screening test, vitals testing were, conducted. In the event, that a resident faced any issue, the audiologists, assisted with a free consultation session, for suggesting, the way forward like, further tests, that may be required to be conducted, preventive measures, to be adopted, the kind and type of hearing aid (if required) to be procured, etc.
I must share my experience at the camp… fortunately for me, after tests were conducted, the audiologists certified my hearing sense, to be in order. That, thus brought them, to a situation, where they enquired from me the ‘reason’ of my visit. And and and, the answer was as follows… ”well, I am here coz’ my dad, wanted me to undergo, the hearing tests. He always says, that I am hard of hearing, because whenever he asks me, to do anything, I don’t listen to him….” !!!
