In addition to their health problems, which are the utmost concern of senior citizens, the other most important issue is financial independence. With the changing social values, one has to have enough savings to look after the expenses related to health and bread & butter.
This is why senior citizens are always in search of a better option and want to keep their hard-earned money in such instruments where it is safe. With online frauds being common and rampant, they are the most vulnerable targets of such online fraudsters.
Keeping the above facts in mind, Dharamveer Yadav, of the Senior Citizen Group, liaised with ICICI Bank, Sector 104, to arrange a detailed presentation on fraud awareness among senior citizens. The bank officials organised this in the Lotus Boulevard Club card room on Saturday, 21 September.
A large number of senior citizen couples attended. The bank officials gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation detailing the various kinds of online frauds prevalent, how to keep oneself alert and how to report it.
A few senior citizens shared their experiences of having faced incidents of online frauds. After this interactive session, ICICI Life officials also presented their products particularly Mediclaim suitable for senior citizens.
The bank had arranged for photography of each couple at the beginning of the programme and refreshments at the end to make the session lively.
