Four Men (25-30 Yrs) Looted Me in Broad Daylight

I, Meenakshi Kumar, a resident of B-7, want to narrate the incident that happened with me on 25-Sep-2023.

I was driving towards Chhatarpur, alone in my car. I was listening to Shabad on my i-Phone, connected to my car’s music system. At around 1 PM, I stopped at the traffic signal near Fortis. Suddenly four men, all aged between 25-30 years, started knocking on my car windows, all four windows. I was shocked and terrified. One of them opened my car window, with some instrument and took away my mobile phone. Then all of them ran away towards B-1. As the signal turned green, I took a U-turn and I went to a nearby shop, borrowed the shopkeeper’s phone and informed the police about this incident. Thankfully they responded quickly and a team visited immediately. Policemen inquired from nearby shops and the locals told the police that they saw the culprits but were scared of their own wellbeing hence did not try to stop them or intervene.

Then immediately, I went to my bank, to freeze my account as it was linked with my mobile. I took their help and informed my husband about this as I was unable to recall his contact number. After this, I lodged an FIR with VK Police station. It is three weeks now but, the culprits are not yet traced and my i-Phone is still not found.

With this incident, I want to caution everyone and highlight that:

1. No one is ready to help you in such situations. It is better to take care of your safety and security, yourself.

2. Keep important phone numbers handy with you, in a diary or something other than the mobile phone as we are completely dependent on our mobile phones.

I hope such incidents do not happen with anyone else. Be vigilant and keep yourself safe and secure.
