Foul Smell from the Drainage After Festive Functions in the Community Centre

Sector 50 has recently hosted a series of weddings and celebrations at its Community Centre (CC). While Samvada previously highlighted noise pollution from these events, another pressing issue has surfaced and is being discussed by those who walk pass by the CC or visit the temple for darshan — foul smell from choked drains caused by food waste left behind after the parties.

The stink from the clogged drains has spread in the CC complex, to the temple premises, the nearby park, and even the Central Park. This is making it extremely difficult for morning walkers to breathe. Darshan in the temple is no longer mentally refreshing, as the smell is the focus that makes the visitors leave the premises hurriedly soon after customary ritual.

With the wedding season still underway, residents fear the situation could worsen if prompt action is not taken.

Residents are now urging the Sector-50 RWA to act swiftly by cleaning the drains, enforcing stricter waste disposal guidelines, and ensuring regular maintenance to restore hygiene and prevent further inconvenience.
