Sunder Lal Khatter Memorial Football Tournament was organised by the RWA of D-3/4 on 9th and 10th November, 2024 at the Central Park of D-3.
More than 60 players across the age group of 5 to 50 years participated in the tournament.
All the matches were played under floodLights to attract maximum participation from players of all age groups.
The tournament kicked off with the matches of Under 9-year -old kids, then moving on to 9-15 years, 15-40 years, and above 40-ear categories.
According to Debashish Brahmachari, one of the members of the Organising Committee, ‘The main purpose of organising such games and tournaments within the community is to bring residents together and create a bond and camaraderie among kids, besides the physical and mental benefits that playing outdoors brings in.’
In today’s hectic schedule where time comes at a premium, it was heartening to see parents and grandparents coming out in numbers and encouraging their kids on a weekend evening.
The pure joy of playing and enjoying football was evident on the faces of everyone, of all ages.
A great initiative by the RWA of D-3 & 4, especially the organising committee comprising Debashish Brahmachari, Pooja Khurana, Sudhir Khattar, Ashish Khurana, and Pratay who provided all the technical support.
