After the scorching summer month of June, when we had to cancel our meeting owing to the harsh weather, it was time to celebrate and welcome monsoons. We spoke about ‘ plastic bag free day, which was on July 3. The members were told about the benefits of carrying their own cloth bags when they step out to shop. If one remembers to carry the phone everywhere, we should make it a practice to carry a cloth bag too!
We also spoke about Jagannath Rath Yatra which starts on July 7, this year in Puri, Orissa. This time, after 50 years, the yatra will be organised for two days.
It has been a practice in Vividha ,ever since it’s inception ,to collectively celebrate all the festivals/ important events falling in the respective month.
Since everyone was in relaxed mood, we invited a food item company team to cook a healthy meal for us and share some recipes too. It was a great experience as the members interacted with the team on their favourite topic ‘ food, and also answered the questions put up by the chef. We got to taste a complete meal of dahi pudding, nutrichaat and quinoa khichdi.
Birthday ladies were presented with beautiful gifts and were wished in chorus by all. Kavita and I , both July borns, treated everyone with cakes.
To end the meeting we had dhokla, cocktail samosa and fruit juice.
Next month we plan to celebrate Teej, the favourite festival of ladies as they get to adorn themselves in fineries, sing and dance as no one is watching.
