Mosquitoes, which are carriers of diseases like dengue and malaria, pose a serious threat to our health. This monsoon season brought its challenges, as many Residents and their loved ones suffered from the effects of these mosquito-borne diseases. To control the rising population of mosquitoes, fogging is an effective solution.
Our South City Volunteers are forever striving to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all.
Fogging involves the use of specialized machines to spray insecticides. This process is typically conducted in the early morning or evening when mosquito activity is at its highest. During fogging, the insecticide disperses into the air, killing adult mosquitoes.
On 27th September 2024, the Volunteers organised fogging for the entire A Block. It greatly benefited in lowering the mosquito population.
While mosquito fogging is an effective measure, it should be combined with other prevention methods, such as eliminating stagnant water where mosquitoes breed and practising personal safety measures. It is an important step in the fight against mosquito-borne diseases, helping to keep our health and lives safe.
