Water logging has been an age-old issue in not just Gurgaon but Sushant Lok as well. This year was no different. More particularly it has been an issue in Park Lane-3, so much so that their local Whatsapp group was renamed Lake Lane.
Water from Chakkarpur Village flows into the lane, inundating three fourth of the lane. This monsoon, with the removal of the school wall separating A block from DLF -4, water flowed unrestricted and flooded the lane badly, in June. The Museo- Ivy road was clear at that time.
As a defence mechanism, residents of A block have created a temporary, sandbag blockage, which has reduced the amount of water flowing into their lane, to some extent, but the Ivy- Museo road gets flooded now.
The only solution is to treat the root of the problem by creating rainwater harvesting reservoirs and proper drainage in Chakkarpur. Besides this, our plots need to clear drains and make sure that no stormwater drains are choked by ramps, gardens or garbage.
Until this groundwork is done, all else is a mere whitewash, which will drain with the first rains! Since this issue is connected with all nearby localities, our colony stalwarts need to bring together the village Sarpanch, RWA’s of Sushant Lok, DLF 4, Chandralok and Ivy to come together and get MCG to walk the talk.
