The excitement had been brewing for months and the day was finally here. The national elections that would decide the future of the country were finally here and this time around there was a whole new set of youngsters ready to participate in it. A whole new generation, ready to actively take part in the making of the nation and it truly feels exhilarating. The electoral roll saw new pages of names and identities ready to make change in the world. One of those people was me.
The day came. On 26 April, with much anticipation and after much deliberation and due diligence on whom to vote, I was set to go to the voting center, the Cultural Club in F-block Sector-50, to cast my vote. With rows upon rows of people sitting and lurking around, I reached the desk for registration and the paper slip and made my way inside. The helpfulness of the people on duty was immense and made the process extremely easy. As I reached the ballot, I was filled with excitement and nerves; however, due to the easy process I had cast my vote in no time, officially turning into an ‘adult’.
In a world where people seem to be divided over the smallest things and ideas, seeing people come together to cast their vote and decide the future of the country seemed quite hopeful. People gathering around from different spheres, backgrounds of lives assembling together as a united front to do their part in the new future of India; thus paying respect and showcasing their allegiance to the country as a whole.
