First AGM Of GKIIWA After The Elections

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Greater Kailash-II Welfare Association was held on May 12, 2024, at Arya Samaj, GK-2, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, with 170 residents signing the attendance register. The meeting started at 10:50 am after achieving the required quorum. The agenda followed as per the notices issued.

President Mr. Shadi Ram Sharma welcomed the attendees, followed by the recitation of the National Anthem and a two-minute silence for deceased residents. Mr. Sunil Magon explained the association’s objectives from the Constitution. General Secretary Mr. Sanjay Rana read the minutes of the previous AGM held on April 30, 2023, which were unanimously accepted. The Annual Report for the year ending March 31, 2024, was presented, and copies were distributed to participants.

Newly elected Executive Committee (E.C) members introduced themselves, as suggested by Mr. V. K. Gauba and Mr. Pradeep Multani. Mr. Sharma highlighted key points of the report, including the filing of Income Tax and TDS Returns for the first time, recovery of a missing Original Registration Certificate after extensive follow-up, and the acknowledgment of the Election Team’s efforts, noting that all activities were video-graphed for transparency. He also thanked volunteers for their assistance.

Treasurer Mr. Ashwani Kapur presented the accounts for 2023-24, with Auditor Mr. K.K. Jha providing clarifications. It was decided to retain gold coins as assets. The accounts and budget were approved by majority vote. An incident involving Ms. Tanushree using derogatory language was quickly addressed by the participants. The current S.H.O of C.R. Park, Mr. Yogeswar Singh, praised the association’s cooperation with the police, particularly noting a 90% reduction in crime due to the barricading system implemented since June 2023.

Resident Mr. Sunder Lal raised issues about the AGM notice period and report circulation, which were addressed by Mr. Neeraj Chaudhary and Mr. Pradeep Multani, affirming the meeting’s validity and procedures. It was decided that a future General Body Meeting would discuss constitutional amendments, builders’ issues, and fund generation.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice-President Mrs. Uma Talwar, followed by a communal lunch.
