On a regular day, 18 Madhya Marg in DLF Phase 2 faced a sudden and terrifying event – a massive fire outbreak. The incident unfolded quickly, but thanks to some swift and coordinated efforts, a major catastrophe was narrowly averted.
The alertness of residents like Shashi ji and Veenu Kalra ji played a crucial role in preventing a disaster. They promptly reported the fire, which allowed for a quick response. Within just three minutes, a team from Vipin Yadav’s office was on the scene. Their immediate action was to call the Quick Response Team (QRT), the fire brigade, and the police.
Additionally, they requested the SDO (DHBVNL) to cut the power supply immediately. His prompt response was commendable; power was cut, and his team was dispatched to support the fire.
The QRT team, of Govind and Ashwini, deserves special recognition for their rapid response and assistance in controlling the situation. Within 15 minutes, the fire brigade arrived on the scene, ready to tackle the blaze.
Efforts didn’t stop there. The team also reached out to the builder, emphasizing the need to prevent such incidents in the future. The heat from the fire caused damage to the main power supply lines of neighbouring properties, especially in MM-17. The builder promptly took responsibility and had the damaged lines replaced.
Incredibly, within just one hour, everything returned to normalcy. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilant residents who are valuable assets to our community. Their quick thinking and immediate action played a pivotal role in preventing what could have been a much more devastating situation.
It is also a testament to the power of teamwork and coordination among emergency response teams, builders, and utility providers. Fortunately, we managed to avoid a situation that could have spiralled out of control, and we owe our thanks to the collective efforts of everyone involved. We hope that such incidents are rare in the future, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.
