Finally GKRA Gets a New Managing Committee After Two Years

It is gathered that finally after a lot of ifs and buts and lengthy deliberations, delays, marred with bickering, GKRA got a new MC for the year 2023-24 on 19.07.23 and new General Secretary, on 27 July. The President also got elected on 10 Aug. Sanjay Anand, whose election was delayed due to some controversy was finally declared elected as President, after due process of election was completed by the new GS, Bimal Kapoor. This will be a 2nd term for Mr Anand.

In the year 2022-23, new managing committee, which comprises of 24 members (Three each from 8 blocks of GK1) was not formed. Elections for the post of President & GS & AGM were also not held. Even audited accounts were not presented. GKRA and its GS were dragged to court by SBWS & its President on some ulterior motives by a small coterie of GKRA members.

Elections were deliberately delayed by the former GS by misrepresenting the facts and claiming that there was a stay from the court on holding of elections etc. It is reported that in fact, the stay on elections etc. was lifted by the Hon’ble court in the last week of Oct.

In a recent MC meeting of GKRA, held on 30.07.2023, serious charges were levelled against the former GS Varun Garg (A Copy of MOM is with Samvada) by many senior members of GKRA.

Hopefully, the other office bearers of GKRA will also be nominated for the year 23-24 by the time this edition reaches our readers.

Let us hope that the newly constituted team and office bearers would take a positive approach and work towards the development of GK 1 & resolve many pending civic issues.

Wishing a bright future to the new team.
