Our population is increasing and so are the crimes which now include snatching, thefts, frauds, car accidents, eve teasing, suicides, murders and such. The latest in this list is a fight between autorickshaw drivers, with punches and clothes getting torn. The cause – who will take the passengers first.
On Sunday, 1 December 2024, around 9:15 AM, I was returning from Club 3. I saw the rickshaw drivers fighting near the temple (opposite PC1). While doing so, they came towards my car and postured right in front of it, as if they were in a movie sequence.
The police arrived and apprehended the fighting drivers. The area became a little disciplined. However, in view of this incident and earlier law and order situations, my suggestion is that our management gets a police post established near the temple.
The road crimes are largely near the temple, Imperial Arcade, Prometheus School Road junction and between Jaypee Public School and Jaypee Information Technology Institute. At present, we have a police post near the Shani Mandir, under Sector 126 Police Station, and another near Max Hospital, under Expressway Police Station, Sector-135.
A police post near the temple, with regular patrolling, can maintain better law and order. Of course, fellow residents must also remain vigilant!
