On 11th October 2024, the eve of Ashtami and Navmi, a dandiya night was organi-sed at our happening joint for the residents of the Defence Colony. A multi-dimensional colorful bonanza dancing on jazzy Dandiya beats from all blocks of Defence Colony, creating a history of over 400 numbers. The function continued till midnight, and people enjoyed the Dandiya beats to the fullest.
Dandiya night was not only full of energy and dance but also a delightful culinary experience, especially after the fasting period. The combination of Dandiya and delicious food was an unforgettable evening!
We are overwhelmed with gratitude.
On Dusshera eve, the children of Defence Colony put on an extraordinary Ramleela performance, with participants ranging from the ages of 2 to 15, bringing the ancient epic to life with great energy and enthusiasm. It’s always special when residents come together, and this performance was choreographed by dedicated parents, with a special mention to the family of P.N. Aggarwal including his spouse Charu Lata Aggarwal, son Aman Prateek Aggarwal, daughter-in-law Aanchal Aggarwal and grandson Atharav Aggarwal, who took on key roles in organising and preparing the children.
A special highlight of the evening was Maanvi, granddaughter of Harjit Kaur Bawa and daughter of Dr. Vivek and Dr. Manpreet, who performed a soulful bhajan and beautifully played the piano, adding a serene touch to the celebration.
The celebration coincided with the birthday of N.D. Bhasin ji, a senior member born on Vijay Dashmi. In a symbolic gesture, he set fire to Raavana’s effigy, marking the victory of good over evil.
Adding to the joyful atmosphere, a vibrant dance performance was given by the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dikshit Bhatia and the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Mehta, another respected member resident.
The event wouldn’t have been complete without the delicious snacks and meals that were enjoyed by all. As the program came to a close, certificates of excellence and gifts were handed out by me, alongside proud grandparents, to the children who performed.
A special thanks to Sushil Bagga ji, Mandeep Singh ji, Seema Kandhari, and all the residents for being there and making the function a great success. This successful event was yet another testament to the hard work of the team members. We look forward to many more such joyful events!
