Vividha family came together to celebrate Deepawali – the festival of lights. We discussed why we celebrate Diwali. It was interesting to know that in spite of celebrating Lord Ram’s homecoming after exile, why we worship Goddess Laxmi. And also why we worship Ganesh Ji with Laxmi. The interesting mythological stories were shared and enjoyed by all the members.
We played tambola – ladies anytime ‘ go to entertainment’. Member’s really enjoyed the game and winning amounts.
Birthday ladies were wished by the Vividha family present and were given beautiful gifts
The community centre was decorated with flowers and buntings to give it a festive look.
The icing on the cake was our small Haat. Member’s who make chocolates and bakes brought their goodies for everyone to relish. Our members who paint and make wall hangings, carry bags, coasters , table decor also put up displays of their stuff. Some of our members are self employed selling bed linen, ladies apparel, purses, jewellery etc brought their stuff for others to buy and enjoy. There were beautiful home decor Diwali articles also. On the whole this meeting was very satisfying and enriching. It is always a pleasure to see our members doing great things and being independent and confident.
Everyone relished hot samosa, kachori, imarti and tea. Kusum Mandiratta got sweets for all as she was blessed with a grandson few days back. We congratulate her family and bless the new born.
Vividha shall be celebrating it’s annual day on Friday December 1, preparations for which are on in full swing.
