Study Circle Talk by Dr Rajendra Prasad
A highly anticipated Study Circle talk took place on 26 May. The topic of the talk was ‘falls in elderly a major cause of disability’ speaker was our own sector resident Dr Rajendra Prasad. Highly qualified Dr Rajendra Prasad is senior consultant neuro and spines surgeon at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital New Delhi. He is medical director of Indian head injury foundation over seeing it’s program on neuro rehabilitation. He is Founder trustee of Kara medical foundation.
RWA President DD Mishra welcomed him with a bouquet of flowers. SP Bagla introduced him to the audience. Dr Rajendra Prasad explained the cause of falls, how to take small little precautions to avoid the falls, how to rehabilitate if you are injured.
With the help of audio video presentation, he made the talk very easily comprehensible for everyone. More than 150 residents attended the talk. There were several questions. He also gave residents valuable information about injured persons care, as how to lift them etc. He insisted on intake of Vit B 12 for vegetarian person. He said we have to be very careful with our food specially vitamin and minerals. He also distributed hand book with all the information. Kiran Kapoor praised him for taking out time for giving lecture. VK Kapoor asked about preventive measures and material related to that, which people can avail. Dr Rajendra Prasad said we have you-tube link which will be shared.
