The prevalence of truth over all sins is the depiction of Dussehra celebrations like every festival Dussehra is celebrated with great pomp and show in Suncity. All the residents including children make it a point to come to the Dispensary grounds to witness the burning of the effigies as a symbol of triumph of truth.
This year as always 3 huge effigies of Ravan Kumbhkaran and Meghdoot were constructed and they stood tall and were a sight to be seen. By 6 pm all the residents of Suncity had gathered in the grounds to see the glorious sight.
The procession which had to come at 6 was delayed but by 7 pm the festivities had started. There was great excitement amongst all to see the burning of the effigies. The members of the RWA were there to welcome the procession. As the first arrow was shot and the burning of the effigies started there were cries of Jai Sri Ram echoing. With each effigy burning, there was so much excitement and exhilarating feeling amongst all.
The entire area was lit up with the fire of burning of the evils. The burning of the effigies is a reaffirmation of the burning of the evils, excess and laziness, arrogance and attitude and of course the greatest of all sins – the desire to possess that which doesn’t belong to us.
It’s all thanks to the RWA team of Suncity who work so hard to make the celebration of every festival so perfect and beautiful.
