Parking Woes
One can only attribute it to Covid. Nothing else seems to explain the change in human behaviour.
The realisation that life is unpredictable so live it big and indulge in luxury. Buy more cars, the bigger the better.
Every house has an average of 2 cars and with tenants, it can go up to 4. Noida Authority had not anticipated this level of growth nor planned for it.
The resultant issues pertain to these parking woes. Besides the genuine problems, residents have created more problems – making gardens outside their homes extending to the boundary of the road, so that passing cars from both sides risk banging into each other. Fights are common after this.
There is no clear policy by NA regarding this and so each one does what is convenient for them. It is an understanding that the plot limit is up to the drain (nali) outside it. The land outside this is public property, mainly for parking. Residents need to understand this principle and RWCS should pursue this with NA to enforce this strictly.
The tragedy is that good neighbourliness has disappeared and Selfishness and aggressive behaviour has become rampant.
Follow your neighbours is the new formula. “If he can do it I can too”.
Residents, please send your suggestions to Traffic Department NA via the RWCS to formulate a policy which we could implement jointly.
