Children’s Day celebration at Grand Omaxe
After a long time the Grand Omaxe organised it’s much awaited sports day on the occasion of Children’s Day. The theme of the event this time was:^^[ksysxk cpiu rks LoLFk jgsxk thou**- The event was organised for 2 days, on 12 and 13 November 2022.
Over the course of two days, over 200 residents participated in various sports and cultural activities. The sports meet includes Table tennis and Lawn tennis as main sports meet. To keep the residents engaged, ethnic games such as kho-kho, tug of war, and lemon spoon races were also held. The sports meet event began on November 12, 2022, with Lawn Tennis and Table Tennis matches. By the afternoon, all league matches had concluded, and the ethics games had begun with tug-of-war and kho-kho.
Residents thoroughly enjoyed these games.
The following day, 13 November, began with a children’s yoga session, then a drawing competition, which was another successful event with nearly 75 kids participating. As the competition was taking place and the kids were painting, one of resident quoted the saying, “The lawn was looking like a garden full of flowers spreading their colorful emotions and thoughts on canvas sheets.”
A senior citizen commented that it was like the stars had came down to Grand Omaxe lawn (Tarre jameen pe)!! Many of parents and adult residents also wished to sit to do drawing and requested Sonika Arora, the volunteer, to plan for this drawing session again soon.
Following the drawing competition, it was the time for finals of Lawn Tennis game in different age groups. All the matches were tough games, but none of players wanted to give up and lose to their opponents. The matches were great watch for spectators and parents were seen cheering for their children.
Final results in various games: Winners of TT – Ayaansh (1st position), Paras Choudhari (2nd position), Lakshya and Arisha (3rd position).
Winners of Tennis – Under 10 boys: Ayansh Singhal (1st position), Vivaan Arora (Runner up); Under 10 girls: Anandita (1st position), Siya Katarki (Runner up); Under 13 boys: Vihaan Kanodia (1st position), Lakshay Aggarwal (Runner up); Under 15 girls: Arisha Thukral (1st position), Anaisha Bhagat (Runner up); Under 15 boys: Aditya Rajpoot (1st position), Pranjal Mittal (Runner up). Above 20: Amit Gupta (1st position), Kuldeep Rajpoot (Runner up).
The event was concluded with a cultural program in the evening and medal distribution to winners. The evening was again a well-organized program with lots of shopping and food stalls. The program had many jaw-dropping performances by children in dance, singing and playing music instruments.
Harish Madan, the board member, on behalf of GOAAO Board thanked all participants in all activities and volunteers for making the event a great success. Preet Chug, Sonika Arora, Sachin Sharma, Amit Satya, Gurpreet Singh were the volunteers from residents. Mohit Sir TT and Mohit Pandey Sir Tennis also were great resource to get all games concluded as were planned.
