Wishtown residents celebrated Lohri on a massive scale, thanks to the wonderful organisation by our AOA. Almost 600 of us from the different towers – Pavilion Court, Pavilion Height, Imperial Court, Kalypso Court, Augusta Towers – & even Kensington Park plots attended the celebration.
Club 3 was beautifully decorated with flowers & colourful gears. We were ready to be dazzled by the performances. Folk dancers mesmerised the audience with their talent. A ‘Best Dressed’ Contest was conducted too wherein children won us over with their festive looks.
However, the showstopper was the high voltage dance performance by PH2 & PH3 Zumba Divas. The Divas’ dedication coupled with the Zumba trainer Deepak’s superb choreography made this dance remarkable.
Residents loved the merchandise stalls. A photobooth had been erected for us to click away to our heart’s content. We did bhangra & danced to the dhol beats. A highly anticipated event was the lucky draw sponsored by Giva Jewellery. Nitika (PC11) won the coveted prize of a beautiful ring.
Kids enjoyed the swings & train ride. They tried their hands at ring games & relished lots of candyfloss. What to say about the food stalls? From biryani to chaats to kebabs to Chinese dishes to gol gappas, everyone enjoyed the mouth-watering food.
The event was, of course, successful due to the blessings of the Agni God. The Lohri fire was lit at 8 PM. Residents took rounds of the holy fire & performed their pooja.
