Writes To GMDA Over Blockage of Entry/Exit from MG Road
After hearing about GMDA’s plans of blocking the Entry / Exit for Essel Towers from MG Road during the MG Road beautification project, the Essel Tower RWA wrote a letter to the GMDA requesting them to look into the plan for the same and making sure that the Entry/Exit that the society from MG Road is not blocked since it could create chaos in the service lane leading to the society.
They pointed out that the service lane is in any case blocked by street vendors and a Thursday market which makes it impossible for Essel Tower residents to access the gates from there. The RWA also informed them of the fact that Essel has around 5,000 residents including senior citizens that will be affected by this development. The letter also mentioned that the RWA is in full support of the beautification project and welcomes the Idea, however, the residents need to be ascertained that the development will cause no trouble and will not become a security risk at any point.
It is believed that after receiving the letter and some social media noise, the GMDA has assured the RWA that the matter will be looked into and the interest of the resident will be taken into account. They will soon meet with the RWA to clarify and work on the development plan.
