Kanjak is an important ritual that is followed to culminate the Navratri Celebration. Little girls are worshipped, fed with “Saatvik Bhojan” and then they are sent back home with gifts. In return these little “Durga Avatars” bless the people, who invite them. This time, it was good sight to see that the people are becoming more and more conscious about cleanliness and the environment. The most beautiful thing about Kanjak pujan is that all the girls sit and eat together without any inhibitions about their caste or status. Interestingly this time, most of the residents in the sector were found serving the food to the girls either in steel utensils or environment friendly disposable utensils. To avoid wastage of food, adequate amount was served to the girls and even useful gifts were gifted to them. The residents were doubly blessed by the little girls for not only caring for them but also for the environment.
