Lohri is a Punjabi festival celebrated primarily by Sikhs and Hindus, marking the end of winter and the arrival of longer days. Observed on 13 January, Lohri involves lighting a bonfire, dancing, singing traditional folk songs, and enjoying festive foods like til (sesame) and gur (jaggery).
The bonfire symbolizes the sun’s return and is a focal point for gatherings. Lohri holds cultural significance, fostering joy within communities while preserving traditions passed down through generations.
Residents celebrated Lohri with enthusiasm and fervour by distributing peanuts and Rewari amongst each other and our support staff. We also performed Bhangra and gidda on the occasion.
