Encroachment by builders in all the colonies is rampant. Be it the main streets or the back lanes, they encroach upon every inch of public land defying all MCD rules.
One can see heaps of construction material lying infront of the homes blocking the parking area and installation of huts for labourers in the backlanes is a matter of great concern to all the RWA’ s and residents. In SDA too similar complaints have been coming from different blocks. The RWA took a stand and complained to the Councillor Ms Sarita phogat to pay a visit and take punitive action.
Sarita Phogat visited SDA to check on encroachment done by builders along with members of SDA-RWA and residents. She was there on site for almost 3 hours to sort this issue out. Personelle from Works, Sanitation, Horticulture and health departements were also summoned.
1. Work department picked the building material 2. Sanitation department challaned the construction sites for the mess 3. Malaria department challaned the construction sites 4. Delhi Jal Board challaned them as they are using drinking water for construction 5. Horticulture department was also present at the site. The RWA thanked the councillor for their overdue problem and taking appropriate action.
Such action on builders is a must and the MCD must keep a strict check on them so that the residents are not inconvenienced because of their misconduct.
