An Initiative Taken By The RWA And Residents Of 39
RWA sector 39 has initiated a program of free education for weaker section people in association with an NGO in A block. The objective of this initiative is to contribute to the
education of weaker sections including children and women through daily lectures on core subjects and activities like music, art and craft and yoga for well-being.
The program was inaugurated on 16 April 2023 and classes started from 17 started April. The inauguration started with a welcome speech by the author of this write up. She shared her experience in teaching children belonging to weaker sections and also spoke about the importance of education in the growth of our country’s progress.
This was followed by the rendition of Saraswati Vandana by Punam Kishore.
The coconut-breaking ceremony was done by Yogendra Sharma (President of FONRWA). Ashok Khanna (president RWA sector 39) presented a planter to the chief guest and Neelam Varshney presented a planter to Geeta Gandhi (guest of honour) to welcome them.
The program was attended by presidents of RWAs of various sectors. Anju Malhotra summarised initiatives by the present RWA team. Suangana Varshney spoke about many noble initiatives taken up by the Sector based NGO and Yogendra Sharma emphasized the importance of education and congratulated RWA for this initiative.
Geeta Gandhi shared her experience in public life. Deepak Varshney thanked Ashok Khanna (president of RWA sector 39) and his team for their support, volunteers who came forward and the residents. The program ended with light refreshments. Initially the classes started with 5 students and within two weeks the student count went to 23. As of today the classes comprise of toddlers to grade 9 students including maids. The classes are held from 4 PM to 6 PM from Monday to Thursday. The initiative has received immense response and residents have contributed generously by way of teaching staff, cash contributions and infrastructure development.
The initiative would not have been possible without support from the RWA and residents.
Residents are requested to nominate students / maids for the classes so that they can make use of the classes.
