Elections Held In Prateek Fedora, New Team Takes Over

Elections for the formation of the management committee were held in Prateek Fedora society on January 21, 2023. The last elections were held a couple of years back and since then owing to the COVID pandemic and other factors, the elections couldn’t take place. Many residents and the outgoing PFAWA team had approached the Deputy Registrar, Societies to conduct the elections after which the election officer was appointed and elections were conducted.

A total of 15 residents filed nominations, out of which 2 withdrew their nominations and the remaining 13 candidates went to the polls. The competition was very close and the winning margin in some cases was very less but finally 8 candidates with the highest number of votes were declared as winners. The names of the winning candidates are as follows. Amit Raina (who secured the highest number of votes), Renu Malhotra, Amitaabh Shrivastava, Anurag Gupta, Arpit Goel, Parmeshwar Rana, Dinesh Batra and Muninder Kumar Tyagi. All the candidates wished each other after the elections and celebrated their win.  Since this time the voting was not for posts but only to form a committee, the winning candidates held a meeting among themselves on the same day to decide the official posts. After much discussion the following team was declared; President – Amitaabh Shrivastava, Vice President – Renu Malhotra, General Secretary – Parmeshwar Rana, Treasurer – Anurag Gupta, Joint Secretary – Amit Raina, Joint Treasurer – Arpit Goel, Executive Members – Dinesh Batra and Muninder Kumar Tyagi. While the whole election process was harmonious, it wasn’t without its share of issues. The major being the unauthorised and illegitimate demand of Rupees Two Lakhs, by the assistant election officer, Amit Kumar to conduct the elections. Many residents and the then PFAWA board objected to this and raised this issue with the main election officer who clarified that no money was not to be given to the assistant election officer and only Rupees twenty thousand were to be given to the election committee for the arrangements and out of which also only around seven thousand were spent thereby saving the residents’ money.

The new team had declared its vision for the society during the course of the campaign. Their vision is to make the society an example for others. They have even come up with the tagline-”Neighbour’s Envy – Owner’s Pride. The new team aims to further strengthen the security and maintenance of the society through proper training and certification.  They also aim to promote oneness and brotherhood by various measures like restarting the club lounge and introducing special initiatives for children and senior citizens. Reactivating the ladies club. Taking up community service and social work and even covering the maintenance and housekeeping staff of the society in these endeavours. The new team also aims at having better coordination with and extending larger support to the mandir committee. The new committee plans on cultivating a sense of pride among the residents by ensuring better sanitary hygiene in the society, launching green initiatives, making improvements to the roof-top sign board, entrance gate, visitor parking etc. The new PFAWA aims to involve the residents in their decisions and be transparent in their working through regular meetings and GBMs. Infrastructure jobs like the water softening plant, structure audit, seepage related repairs, renovation of the swimming pool, gym, lawn and kids playing area are other areas where the new team wishes to put their efforts into. We wish the new team luck in all their endeavours.
